The Vision: Onsite Community Family Support

The vision is to support the entire family in achieving as normal a life as possible, while also ensuring that special needs family members receive appropriate care. The aim is to help siblings experience a more typical childhood by securing the necessary support for the family. The goal is to enable parents to maintain healthy relationships and a balanced life by providing them with the assistance required for their special needs children. Additionally, the intention is to help parents retain their parental rights by ensuring their children’s needs are met.

Although this vision may seem ambitious, the hope is to restore the dreams that many parents have et aside due to the demands of caring for special needs children. The objective is to ensure that siblings receive the attention and love they deserve, which they may have sacrificed, because parents just focus on the special needs family member. The objective is to restore family dynamics so that each member can reach their full potential, without being limited.

This vision is based on the community. The current residence is on eight acres, with the house located near the pond at the back of the property. Plans are underway to divide the front of the property into six distinct sections. One section will feature a row of townhouses, each designed to accommodate multiple residents with roommates. Every resident will have a private bedroom and bathroom, along with shared common areas. Each townhouse will be staffed with support personnel as needed.

Another section will include a larger community building, featuring a greenhouse on one side and a spacious drive-through garage on the other. The walk-out basement will have an indoor pool, enclosed with glass and extending beyond the back of the building. This community building will also contain living spaces for two small families. Plans include installing a commercial kitchen to serve individuals with special needs who are unable to cook for themselves, and, if desired, the kitchen staff can prepare meals for all families in the community. Additional amenities will include a classroom, dining area, small movie theater, Lego building room and other features.

The remaining lots will be leased to families, allowing them to build custom homes tailored to their needs. Each lot can accommodate two homes, enabling assistance for more families. When the parents of a special needs resident pass away, the individual will already be integrated into the community.

For clarification, special needs may include, but are not limited to, autism, physical disabilities, Down syndrome and other conditions that prevent independent living without support. The ministry does not have the capacity to serve individuals diagnosed with mental illness.

As established in the founding documents, the ministry prioritizes individualized care, personal development and community integration, while intentionally avoiding institutional models of care.
